Since 1964 Harlan Construction has been a family owned and operated company. President, Will Harlan, has directed the company for the last 30 years. With the addition of Vice President, Jake Harlan, the company is planning for a successful future.

Will Harlan has been a lifelong resident of Virginia. Graduating from Virginia Polytechincal Institute in 1976. The father of 2 children and married for 40 years.

Will has built and fostered a culture within Harlan that prioritizes building long term customer relation over single job profit margins.

Harlan’s core ideology is to build great projects, meeting great expectations and developing through commitment, great relationships. Harlan believes in making the difference for our clientele on each project. Even on the most challenging of projects Harlan find success with diligence and discipline of management.

This ideology is pervasive within Harlan and speaks not only to the relationships Harlan forms with its clientele but also with its employees.

Jake represents the 3rd Generation of Leaders at Harlan Construction. Having grown up with the company, he was able to gain an understanding of the industry and the importance of relationships.

Jake has been instrumental in fostering new process and control as the foundation for future growth and sustainable relationships within Harlan. He leads Harlan's efforts within the Industrial sector.

Sam Heiberger, Vice President of Construction Services

Sam is an experienced construction manager with a demonstrated history of 20 years in the construction industry.

After a decade in custom homebuilding as a Lead Carpenter and Superintendent, Sam turned his focus to commercial construction in 2010. Since then, he has worked with some of the nation’s largest contractors as a Project Engineer and Project Manager before coming to Harlan.

His range of project experience includes Higher Education, Healthcare, and Chemical Manufacturing. His field experience combined with an educational background in Civil Engineering, allow him to not only lead teams of Architects and Engineers, but also to lead safety, quality, and operational controls with Project Superintendents and Trade Partners.
